minted holiday cards - hooray creative, via the shimmer

It's no surprise to anyone who reads this blog regularly that I love Minted. I've ordered business cards, last year's holiday cards, artwork for myself, and artwork for clients. Basically, they're one of my go-to resources.

For the uninitiated, Minted is a paper lovers' haven. Not only do they carry holiday cards, wedding invitations, birth announcements, personal stationery, business cards, and so much more; they ALSO have an extensive collection of art AND (drumroll, please...) fabric! Seriously, the fabric shop is brand new and full of insanely gorgeous prints. But the best part? All designs are created by independent artists from across the world. They submit their designs, YOU get to vote on them, and then Minted sells the winners. It's pretty fantastic. Okay, I'm gushing. I'll stop. You can read more about it here, if you're interested.

These are our holiday cards for this year. I'm in love with them. Like head over heels. THAT'S REAL FOIL! And the paper is super thick. If you're a stationery addict like me, you know how important that is. The quality is amazing. No exaggeration.

It was excruciating trying to narrow down my favourites but I eventually whittled it down to a group of four, with this one being my absolute favourite. When I showed them to the boyfriend, this design was his clear winner too (#soulmates). It's designed by Hooray Creative, who is insanely talented. Seriously. My business cards were also  designed by her. (Which actually was a complete coincidence, haha.)

AND NOW, HERE'S THE BEST PART: Minted is giving one lucky The Shimmer reader $200 to spend on whatever Minted products they're coveting. So, pop on over to Minted, check out their wares, and then leave me a comment on this blog post with what YOU would buy with your cash money if you won. Cards? Art? Fabric? Wedding Invitations? TELL ME. I WANT TO KNOW.

Contest is now closed. The winner is Kathryn Young, chosen through random.org. Thanks for participating!

I received these cards for free in exchange for a review of Minted products. All thoughts, opinions, words, and images are my own. I take pride in only working with companies I believe in and think are a good fit for this blog and its readers. Thanks for supporting The Shimmer!

  1. Those cards are so beautiful. I'm definitely a Minted fan and love all things paper but I have to say, if I had that kind of moolah to spend, I'd go for the beautiful floral fabrics with the really saturated colours. My bare old couch has some awfully firm arms that could benefit from some fluffy pillows with Minted patterns.

  2. That foil. Oh. My. Yes.

I'm ready to take over Halifax with customized wedding invitations, but I need beautiful business cards before I can do that! I'm shopping around for them now... and I love yours.

Also I'm definitely going to be on Minted for the rest of the day... oops. #stationaryaddict

  3. Oh man Vanessa!! I did not realize Minted did fabric.*let my new obsession begin*

I would spend every last penny on fabric. Jack and Olive both need some new curtains and maybe I could even sneak in a print or two for their rooms!

  4. Would love to have new fabric or maybe new prints! Love all their stuff as well. Great post!

  5. These cards - gorgeous. Wonderful choice and it doesn't feel overly girly which I'm sure your beau appreciates! As an obsessive stationery hoarder, I'd probably spend all my money on customer foil stamped cards... and then actually mail letters to friends instead of just admiring them on a shelf. ;)

  6. Whaaaat!? I have heard you talk about Minted before, but thought they were just for stationary. Stationary is exciting to me, but original fabrics and gorgeous art!? Even better. I just spent an unhealthy amount of time pursuing their site and I think I want one of everything. But my focus right now is on designing my nursery, so I would definitely buy some of the beautiful fabric for curtains and a couple of the nursery art prints if I won. Thanks for telling us about the options at Minted, but you might have just killed my nursery budget ;)

  8. I'd buy some really nice & classy "Thank You" and "Thinking of You" cards…The store-bought kind are just too tacky. And maybe some business cards for myself for when I start my serious job hunting endeavour in the Spring :)

  18. There are too many things to pick a few but at the top of my loooong list....LOVE the Field of Waves print, the Arctic print, the staredown and shadow in the storm prints. I also love the poppy talk stationary and the printed floral and floral mix day planners. I can see what you're having a love affair with minted!

  19. You warned me, but I didn't listen and tried both my phone and iPad to post...so, for the third time:

I love the art prints by Yao Cheng. They're so delicate and pretty. I also love the cards and would love to use Minted for birth announcements. I just have to work on the baby part first!

  21. Fabric, fabric, fabric! ALL OF THE FABRIC!

  22. So this is the site where you shared the fantastic fabric selection before... The one with the SPERM WHALE print that I fully intend to make into a bathroom curtain. With that print, I won't have to shower by nightlight in a poor attempt to shield myself from the neighbors' windows looking directly in. That would be a practical choice.
...But I also stumbled upon this beautiful water color called Grace in the Winds - where the sky is that deep grey contrast with the yellow. Tough choice, cause I love it too.
