A little sparkle...

Monday, November 10

Hey friendos. Popping in with a super quick post today to share quite literally the easiest project in the history of ever. Inspired by this photo from Kira's Instagram, I picked up two strings of super delicate lights from Chapters and stuck them inside two oversized mason jars I bought at Value Village a few years back. That's it.

Super simple and super pretty. Festive enough for this time of year without going overboard with holiday-themed decor in early November. Instead of using regular mason jars, you could also use mercury glass jars, like the gorgeous gold and silver ones Target has right now. The light would peek through the holes in the paint beautifully!

  2. This is awesome! The Chapters listing says the strings are 85.5 inches long? Is that a mistake?

    1. That DOES seem long... but it may be true. They're super delicate, so they bunch together into a fairly small package. For size reference, the smaller mason jar pictured here is about 1.5 times the size of a regular jar. Really, though you could probably do this with almost any size (except for the tiny 250 ml ones) - it's just that the smaller the jar, the brighter the light - which you can see in the photo above. Hope that helps!

  3. Gorgeous! Are they battery operated so you don't have to have the jars near an outlet?

    1. Thanks! They are! There's a small clear box that takes 2 AAs for each string. When the lights are turned on, you don't even notice it. (You can kindof see it in the top corner in the smaller jar, lying on the bottom). It's also where you find the switch to turn the lights on or off.
