Chambray

Tuesday, April 30

So I bought a chambray shirt from Joe Fresh a few months ago. I don't even want to tell you how often I wear it. I'm pretty sure I should be embarrassed. It's honestly the BEST shirt though. I have a darker denim shirt that's a bit thinner, which I often use for layering - but this lighter chambray is the bee's knees. I love how versatile it is.

They're super popular right now, making it easy to find one that fits your style:

Here are a few ways I've styled my chambray:
(Insert iPhone camera/mirror selfie apology here.)

Half-tucked with mustard skinnies and flats.
Open over stripes with leggings and boots.
Buttoned-up with skinny black dress pants and fur.

Are you feeling chambray?

My province is so dang beautiful. Honestly, I'm a little ashamed to admit that I don't get out to enjoy it as much as I should - something I'm determined to change this summer.
We went for the most beautiful walk around Crystal Crescent beach this weekend on the sunniest of days and I couldn't stop taking photos. Nature has so many insane colours. Makes for some pretty stellar inspiration. If you live somewhere you find beautiful, it's so important to emphasize that beauty and bring the outside in. Especially if you live in a house with big windows and a great view!
My imagination is all aflutter with design possibilities. Isn't nature just grand?

Flashback

IN MY HEAD:

So I've been listening to Lana Del Rey pretty much exclusively this week, but since I shared one of her songs on Wednesday, here's one of my other favourite spooky voiced female singers - Sarah Slean.

ON MY MIND:

The most delicious sounding granola of life.

Sunny days make me crave Mexican fare - this Goat Cheese and Roasted Corn Guac sounds phenom.

Em Henderson makes baby showers actually look like fun.

Brittany is such a DIY queen. Check out this patio transformation.

Totally in agreement with Erin on the Gwyneth Haterade. I may find G a bit preachy but to top Star's Most Hated list? And really, why are we compiling a Most Hated list in the first place? How is this ok?

IN MY LINE OF SIGHT:

Shockingly, I didn't take very many snaps this week. Here are a few that I managed to record:

New Club Monaco Bonnie bracelets and Quo by Orly Femme Fatale polish - chipped after 24 hours. If only my beloved Essie made proper neon polish.
Fixed my manicure by swapping the nails with chipped polish for neon orange (also Quo by Orly) - to which my boss noted that my nails were bright enough to keep his jetlag from kicking in, haha. #howido
And a venti Vanilla Spice latte from the bucks (with my ohmydeer calendar - isn't it pretty?) I only get ventis when I've earned my free drink - way too much $$ and I'm certain they contain a whole weekend's worth of calories. #youknowialsogotwhippedcream #wildthing
And that's it for me this week, peoples. Hope your weekend is delightful. xo

P.S. Linked up with Lauren's High Five for Friday as usual. Welcome, if you're visiting from the link up!

Just keep pinning...

Thursday, April 25

I'm addicted to Pinterest. It's a ridiculous form of entertainment, I realize. But I love it none the less. I think it's because I'm such a visual person. I'm constantly inspired by all the gorgeous photos. (Orrr maybe I just procrastinate. A lot.)

Unfortunately, there's a lot of crap on Pinterest. The things people pin. Ridiculous. Don't even get me started on my Pin Now, Read Later rant. So aggravating. Anyway, I thought I would share a few of my fave accounts to follow, in case you're a fellow pinaholic and looking for quality pinspiration.

Jamie Meares. This lady is one of my favourite bloggers, over at i suwannee and I love her taste. Very distinctive and loads of fun.

Emily Henderson. HGTV star but relatively new to me. I adore her, her blog, and pretty much everything she pins.

Sally + Molly. The duo behind the blog, A Piece of Toast. I actually found them because Jamie Meares was repinning from them. From there, I found their Pinterest account and then the blog. Great inspiration.

Abby Unrath. To be perfectly honest, I have no idea how I stumbled on her account. I don't even think she has a blog. She has a crap ton of pins though. And she's constantly pinning content that's new to me - which I love. Way too often people pin the same images over and over.

Bryn Dunn. Bryn writes a blog as well (blogs and Pinterest have significant overlap, haha). From her blog, I assumed her style was much more traditional than my own, but as it turns out, I love the stuff she pins! Maybe I'm more traditional than I realized.

If you want to follow my Pinterest account, you can find me here.
