Tea with Sarah Richardson

Tuesday, September 3

If you've known me awhile and we've ever talked design, you likely know how much I adore fellow Canadian, Sarah Richardson. I've been watching Sarah's shows since my early teens - starting way back with Room Service. Without question, she's my favourite designer. So I pretty much hyperventilated when word came out that she was going to be the keynote speaker at Blog Podium, the blog conference I'm attending later this month. That alone was insanely exciting. But then - Blog Podium had to take it one step FURTHER. They announced a contest where the winners would have tea with Sarah herself! All I had to do was design my ultimate dream room... which leads us to today's post - my ultimate dream living room. Honestly, this room has everything I adore. Pops of grey, white, navy, and brass. Quirky lighting. Nods to mid-century modern. And eclectic art. Move me in immediately, please.

Tea with Sarah Richardson
  1. Art from EyePoetryPhotography, TushTush, and Oh My Deer.
  2. A cosy fleece throw from H&M.
  3. A gorgeous grey striped Kravet fabric for drapes, hung on a brass rod with clouded glass finials from Anthropologie.
  4. The stunning Sabine iron and glass floor lamp from Attica.
  5. The classic Nicholas sofa from Sarah's own line, accessorized with pillows from H&M and Society6 (here and here).
  6. The Lovbaken side table from Ikea, with the Cleo table lamp from Crate & Barrel.
  7. The Ella chaise from Sarah's line, upholstered in John Robshaw's Aleppo Indigo fabric.
  8. The classy Stockholm coffee table from Ikea.
  9. A pair of Everett armchairs from West Elm in navy velvet, adorned with pillows from Society6 and surrounding the Altra wire frame accent table. The West Elm Kew Dhurrie Pouf can be used as occasional seating or as a footrest.
  10. The Franklin Media console from Attica is the perfect way to make the television more attractive.
  11. A hand-knotted Mirage Grey rug from Overstock is underfoot.
  12. And accessories finish off the room - a Nate Berkus for Target dipped bowl for corralling remotes and odds & ends; a sweet-smelling Voluspa candle from Chapters-Indigo; and a set of Celestial Coasters from Anthropologie.

Wish me luck!
