A good vintage dresser is timeless and so versatile; it's something you'll have for years. It has so many uses beyond just bedroom clothes storage.
Here are a few alternatives:
Also in the bedroom, but as a bedside table. This is especially great for small rooms that don't have space for bedside tables and a dresser.
By the front door, as an entryway console.
In the hallway, as linen storage.
In the dining room, as a sideboard.
In the dining or living room, as a bar.
In the living room, for storage.
Or, as a media console.
In the kitchen, as an island.
In an office, for storage.
In a nursery, as a changing table.
In the bathroom, for storage.
Or, as a vanity.
