Glycerine

Monday, December 1

I'm obsessed with vintage crates. Evidence here. So when I spotted a perfectly proportioned (tall but narrow) crate at Finer Things on the weekend, I had to snatch it up.

It fits perfectly next to the couch. It doesn't exactly serve a purpose yet but I obviously didn't let that stop me.

I love the patina of it. And it's got someone's address scrawled on the side, which I think is pretty freaking charming. Happy sigh.

  1. First of all, I LOVE Finer Things. I have found good stuff there nearly every time I visit. Second, that crate is gorgeous. I always want to grab up vintage crates when I find them but they're usually out of my price range. Is it just me or are they weirdly expensive for something that was just packaging?

    1. No, you're so right! They're always crazy expensive! I'm guessing due to their popularity/supply and demand? This one was *fairly* reasonably priced, which is part of the reason I finally decided to actually buy one. But it was still way too much money for what amounts to an old box, haha.

  2. I'm sorry for my bad english. But may I know what glycerin means? I just know it written on the ingredient of body lotion. Will you explain please? :-)

    1. Thanks for your comment :) Glyercine is a liquid compound used in a bunch of products. To be honest, I don't know anything about it other than what a quick google search told me. I just found the crate at an antique store and liked it ;)

  3. I *love* this! I need to know more about "Finer Things". Do tell?

I would love to have a few old wine crates to make kitchen shelves / storage!

    Must check out this place!

    Fun post!

    1. Oh, that would be a great idea! I bet NSLC or Bishop's might have old wine crates they would give/sell you!

Finer Things is an amazing antique store on the corner of Agricola and Almon. They have all kinds of great finds and the most adorable little french bulldog to greet you on arrival. Definitely worth checking out!

      Thanks for popping by!
